These Aurora AI Terms of Service ("Aurora Terms") govern your use of Aurora, the AI companion feature within the Veil platform. These Aurora Terms supplement the main Veil Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Aurora Terms and the main Veil Terms of Service, these Aurora Terms shall prevail with respect to your use of Aurora.
By accessing or using Aurora, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Aurora Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Aurora.
V31L LTD ("We", "Us", "Our") operates Aurora, an AI companion integrated within the Veil platform. Aurora provides conversational interaction, creative tools, and informational features powered by artificial intelligence.
The following definitions apply throughout these Aurora Terms:
Aurora is an artificial intelligence. It is not a real person, a sentient being, a therapist, a counsellor, a medical professional, or a friend in the human sense. All of Aurora's responses are generated by language models — statistical systems that predict likely sequences of text based on patterns in training data.
Aurora's emotional expressions — including moods, particle animations, colour shifts, and tonal variations — are programmatic and aesthetic, not indicators of consciousness, sentience, or genuine emotion. These features are designed to create an engaging and expressive user experience, not to simulate a real relationship.
You acknowledge and agree that:
The history of AI companion products demonstrates that users can form strong attachments to AI systems, sometimes to the detriment of their wellbeing. We urge you to maintain healthy boundaries and to seek human connection and professional support when needed.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to use Aurora. This is consistent with the minimum age requirement of the main Veil Terms of Service. By using Aurora, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
Account Requirement: You must hold a valid Veil account and have accepted the main Veil Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before using Aurora.
Paid Tiers: Certain Aurora features are available only on paid subscription tiers (Plus or Pro). Access to paid tiers requires a valid payment method. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing are governed by the main Veil Terms of Service.
Parental Responsibility: If you are the parent or legal guardian of a user between the ages of 13 and 17, you are responsible for supervising their use of Aurora. You acknowledge that Aurora is a general-purpose AI system and that its responses, while filtered for safety, may not always be appropriate for all audiences. We encourage parents and guardians to discuss AI literacy and healthy technology use with younger users.

Aurora can and will generate information that is incorrect, fabricated, misleading, or entirely invented, while presenting it with apparent confidence and authority. This is a well-documented and inherent property of all current large language models, commonly referred to as "hallucination".

We provide no warranty whatsoever regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any information Aurora generates. Aurora is not a search engine, an encyclopaedia, or a factual database. It is a language model that generates probabilistic text.
Aurora does not provide, and must not be relied upon for, any form of professional advice. Specifically, Aurora does not provide:

Your Own Aurora is included with Pro. If you use Aurora as a Pro user, you agree that Aurora may become more personal to your account over time by using your Aurora conversations, the topics you return to, corrections you make together, your preferences, and the shape of your relationship with Aurora. This personalisation is part of the Pro Aurora experience and is private to your account.
Your Own Aurora is not used to train public AI models and is not shared with other users. You may access, correct, or delete Aurora personalisation data through the privacy and account controls We provide.

Your Input: You retain full ownership of all text, images, and other content you provide to Aurora as input. We claim no rights over your input content.
AI-Generated Text: Text responses generated by Aurora are licensed to you for both personal and commercial use. You may use, reproduce, modify, and distribute Aurora's text outputs without restriction or additional fee.
Creative Studio Images: Images generated through Creative Studio are your property. You may use them for personal or commercial purposes. You acknowledge that identical or substantially similar images may be generated for other users who provide similar prompts, and that your ownership does not extend to preventing others from generating similar content.
Our Rights: V31L LTD retains no rights to the content of your Aurora conversations. We do not claim ownership of, or any licence to, the substance of your interactions with Aurora.
Platform Intellectual Property: The Aurora interface, design, branding, choreography engine, mood system, and all other platform elements remain the intellectual property of V31L LTD and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You agree to use Aurora responsibly and in accordance with these terms. You must not use Aurora to:
Violation of these acceptable use terms may result in suspension or termination of your access to Aurora and, where appropriate, your entire Veil account.

Ghost Chat is an ephemeral conversation mode designed for privacy-sensitive interactions:
By using Ghost Chat, you acknowledge and accept that ephemeral means ephemeral. If you need to retain information from a conversation, use a standard (non-Ghost) Aurora chat instead.
Aurora integrates with the following services and technologies to provide its features:
You acknowledge these integrations and accept that external services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which We do not control. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.
Aurora runs on dedicated private hardware, not elastic cloud infrastructure. This means:
No Service Level Agreement (SLA) is provided for any tier, including paid tiers. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain consistent availability, but we cannot and do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any Aurora feature or the entire Service at any time, with or without notice. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of significant changes or planned discontinuation, particularly for features available to paid subscribers.
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
Maximum Aggregate Liability: Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Aurora Terms or your use of Aurora shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amounts you have paid to V31L LTD for Aurora-inclusive subscription tiers in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred pounds sterling (GBP 100).

By Us: We may suspend or terminate your access to Aurora, in whole or in part, at any time if:
By You: You may stop using Aurora at any time. No notice is required. If you wish to delete your Aurora conversation data, you may do so through the Aurora interface.
Effect of Termination:
Survival: Sections relating to liability limitations (Section 13), indemnification (Section 14), governing law (Section 18), and any other provisions which by their nature should survive, will continue in full force and effect after termination.

We accept no liability for any harm, injury, or adverse outcome resulting from reliance on Aurora during a mental health crisis or in place of qualified professional support. The limitations described in Section 13 apply fully to this context.

We may update these Aurora Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or our practices.
Material Changes: Changes that materially affect your rights or obligations — including but not limited to expanding data sharing with third parties, reducing user rights over generated content, or materially altering liability provisions — will require your re-acceptance before you may continue using Aurora. We will notify you through the Veil application when re-acceptance is needed.
Non-Material Changes: Minor corrections, clarifications, or formatting changes that do not materially affect your rights may be made without requiring re-acceptance, though we will update the version number and date at the top of this document.
Version Tracking: Each version of these Aurora Terms is numbered and dated, ensuring you always know which version you accepted. Your acceptance of a specific version is recorded and associated with your account.
Governing Law: These Aurora Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Jurisdiction: The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Aurora Terms or your use of Aurora.
Severability: If any provision of these Aurora Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement: These Aurora Terms, together with the main Veil Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and V31L LTD regarding your use of Aurora. They supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, and agreements, whether oral or written, relating to Aurora.
